Now I feel isolated from…

…major issues in Jakarta. It started when friends talked about constant rain in Jakarta that I hardly experienced here. Ubud is quite dry although not totally dry. Then, a friend talked about rain with ice drops in south Jakarta. Then, about short storm in some afternoons. And of course, about the Situ Gintung dam disaster that hit last Friday that the location is actually not far from the center of Jakarta.
A Facebook friend posted a lot about the coming election that he urged his friends to vote. I didn’t realize that election is nine days away from today. I don’t see any escalating busy-ness in Ubud and Bali in general except the posters and billboards everywhere that don’t look nice. People don’t talk about it either. Ah…
I walked to Linda’s yoga studio this morning. My new routine. Since I found out her place is five minutes away from my house, I enjoy walking to her place more. It’s a real experience walking in the jungle a la Ubud and actually so convenient. I was the only attendee the first five minutes class started then came two more. In the end, we felt like Linda gave us a private lesson. She paid attention to our pose especially difficult one. She fixed our poses by pushing and pulling our body that I felt auch! She was so patient in showing how we are supposed to stretch our bodies. Think I made big progress since actively attended her class these three weeks.
We had nice talk before class since we are now friends on Facebook. Since I missed Michael Franti’s show last Saturday, I feel the need to connect more with Ubudian. We are close yet so far since Ubudian are usually busy in their own world. Facebook is more like short text message but send to all. I got at least two friends interested in going to Winnie Rode Concert next week since I sent out details of the event. That is nice!
Before home, I learned that Linda’s business is only 3 months old! I thought I had missed a good place close to my house since day one I live in Ubud. I only missed it two months at least! I’m so happy to learn that. It’s so nice to listen to her story how lucky she was and is with business and else. She showed me a real example of to always think positive. She is a real yogi in and out.
I spent rest of the day working at home. I feel malu now that I haven’t made a significant progress. Same old song. I’m getting there. Very close…
