Be Social

I was lifeless the whole evening yesterday. No drive, no spirit, no energy,… I online chatted with a friend and found it hard to think clearly. I wasn’t happy to not be able to contribute enough in the discussion. How I want to always be available for friends and family :-)
I got up early and fought my laziness. I had to do something. I read more of Cooper’s book. Like I said, it's like reading story of my life. Well written. Before dawn I decided to clean my Gmail inbox. I like Gmail because emails are in thread, so easy to delete the whole conversation, unlike Yahoo mail.
I went through conversation one by one and deleted if necessary, or replied. The rule about email says we don’t have to give the final word but replying properly is advised. I replied to many nice gestures old friends shared. Rita in London missed me a lot. Rita in Germany loved Saint Petersburg. Susana shared me her Buddha supplier. Many many nice expressions I could not abandon.
I’m happy to see my lean inbox, only current and relevant issues. And I feel good to share my time with loved ones. Peng sent me text that she could not go to museum with me because of stomach upset. Another friend suffered the same that had to go to hospital. Hm. I made up my mind. I had to go.
It’s a farewell museum tour by a Heritage member. She is German that has lived in Jakarta long time. It’s her passion to have vast knowledge on Indonesian culture. I learned later from my anthropologist friend that she is also one. Today she shared her expertise by giving a tour in bronze section of Museum Nasional. I love bronze.
An hour and half is maximum for me to just stand (I could move without sitting for hours). The tour was thorough, covered only small part of the museum but definitely interesting. I liked to know about Majapahit goddess’ accessories and different person has given me different knowledge of different accessory and its meaning. Nice to collect knowledge about things I like.
Martine wanted to see me in Plaza Indonesia lunch time. I was in battle for a while. I didn’t feel like to socialize but.. I better called her. So I called. She had a friend from embassy to have lunch with. I could be off. I didn’t feel like fitting self with person I don't know. I went on with my plan, having Chinese chicken salad and chai latte :-)
My visit to Projectshop clothing shop is always dangerous. I ended up buying 6 pieces of linen in discounted price. It’s worth. Linen stands through time. That’s how I justified my shopping. And later Martine ‘blamed’ me for making her shopping 6 pieces at Mango. She said she's depressed and missing me. I didn’t tell her that I did the same :-) Shopping is shopping. Nothing to do with depression. Or has?
I’m going to relax a bit this evening. Reading. I haven’t fixed SGD tag on my necklaces. I want to be away from business for a while…
